The rail motorway service for the transport of unaccompanied trailers between Spain and Great Britain through the port of Calais is back in operation.
VIIA Britanica is the longest rail motorway in Europe (1,200 km of avoided road travel) and allows transport companies to cross France in only 22 hours.
A first train coming from Le Boulou, near Perpignan in South West France, arrived on the port on Wednesday 8 February at 16:00.
VIIA, the operator of the line, is planning to first resume service with one round trip per day soon to be increased to two daily rotations.
