Published on 13.03.2025
From 2 April 2025, unless they have a visa or permanent (settled status) or temporary (pre-settled status) resident status, French and European citizens will need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to travel to the UK. Applying for an ETA is compulsory for all travellers, including babies and minors (cost £10).
You can apply on the official UK government website https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta or on the dedicated UK ETA application which you can find on Google Store or the App store.
According to the British Authorities, it takes a maximum of 72 hours to obtain a response.
Before travelling, we recommend that you consult the British Government website
