Boulogne Calais Port

Reducing our CO2 emissions by 25% by 2025.

  • Reducing our CO2 emissions by 25% by 2025.

For more than 10 years, fully aware of environmental issues, Port Boulogne Calais has been committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. Since 2011, our emissions have fallen by almost 20%.

Today, faced with the climate emergency, our company continues its efforts and is committed to reducing its CO2 emissions by 25% by 2025.

Beyond reducing our direct emissions, we contribute to the reduction of indirect emissions related to our activity by supporting, for example, the development of rail motorways.

Ten years ago, the port of Calais decided to invest in a rail motorway terminal for transporting trailers on trains over long distances.

Today:

- 30 trains a week connect the port of Calais to the south of France

- 1,400 km of road travel is avoided per trip per unit

- this is a saving of 1.2 tonnes of C02 equivalent per trailer transported.
