Prepare for your crossing
Before travelling to the United Kingdom, ensure you meet all the necessary requirements for a smooth journey. Administrative formalities, customs formalities, mandatory shipping documents, regulations for pets, and safety precautions are just some of the things that need to be considered in advance.
Book your crossing
Every day, up to 40 departures are offered 24/7, which is approximately one departure every 45 minutes on average. The crossings are operated by three shipping companies – DFDS, Irish Ferries and P&O Ferries – allowing for maximum flexibility and reduced waiting times.
IMPORTANT: For freight professionals, no booking is required before arriving at the port.

A free geo-guidance app is available to help you find your way around the port. Drivers simply scan the QR code displayed at the shipping company’s bus shelter or on the back of the “coat hook” (a holder that can be attached to the rear-view mirror).
The route will be displayed based on their search: boarding gate, Customs office for TIR-ATA, dining options, toilets, etc.
Enjoy your crossing
Depending on the company and ship, drivers can enjoy a wide range of services: bars and restaurants, arcade machines, duty-free shops, showers, etc.
Most ships have an area exclusively for freight drivers, allowing them to enjoy a private space where they can relax and take their breaks in comfort.
