The driver must be able to present the documents relating to the goods being transported: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CMR and other UN codes for safety compliance purposes (IMDG code)<\/li>\n<li>ELO (Mandatory Logistics Envelope) for exports from the European Union to the United Kingdom<\/li>\n<li>GMR (Goods Movement Reference) for importing into the UK customs territory from the European Union<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<h2>ETA \u2013 Electronic Travel Authorisation<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Since April 2025, all travellers \u2013 including minors and infants \u2013 travelling to the United Kingdom <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6206 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.portboulognecalais.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/eta_02-300x189.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"190\" height=\"120\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.portboulognecalais.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/eta_02-300x189.png 300w, https:\/\/www.portboulognecalais.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/eta_02-1024x644.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.portboulognecalais.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/eta_02-768x483.png 768w, https:\/\/www.portboulognecalais.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/eta_02.png 1459w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 190px) 100vw, 190px\" \/>for a short stay must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). The application to the British authorities must be made at least 3 days before your planned date of travel. The British authorities recommend that you apply for your ETA before making your booking. <\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The cost of an ETA is \u00a316, or approximately \u20ac19. It is valid for two years, or until the expiry date of the passport to which it is linked (whichever comes first). It allows for multiple short stays (maximum duration of six months per visit). <\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Nationals of certain countries are exempt from this requirement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Find all the information you need on the UK government website.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btn btn--primary\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">British Government website <i class=\"fas fa-arrow-up-right-from-square\"><\/i><\/a><\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>EES \u2013 Entry &amp; Exit System<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p3\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6193 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.portboulognecalais.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/ees-logo-1-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"135\" height=\"135\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.portboulognecalais.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/ees-logo-1-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/www.portboulognecalais.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/ees-logo-1-1024x1024.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.portboulognecalais.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/ees-logo-1-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/www.portboulognecalais.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/ees-logo-1-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/www.portboulognecalais.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/ees-logo-1-1536x1536.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.portboulognecalais.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/ees-logo-1-2048x2048.png 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 135px) 100vw, 135px\" \/>From October 2025, travellers who are not nationals of European Union Member States will be subject to the EES system. This is an automated system for the digital collection of personal data through biometric data collection at points of entry and exit from the Schengen area. <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">It applies to citizens of non-EU countries, subject to ETIAS and short-stay visas or not, who are staying for a short period (maximum 90 days in any 180-day period) in the territory of a Member State of the Schengen area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">When you pass through the port of Calais, your biometric data (photo and\/or fingerprint) will be taken. <strong>This digital control replaces the manual stamping of the current passport.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>Pets<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">If you are travelling with your pet, make sure before departure that it meets all the travel requirements for entering the United Kingdom. This includes, among other things, a microchip, up-to-date vaccinations, a veterinary health certificate and a European pet passport, etc. On the day of travel, when you check in, do not forget to inform the shipping company agent that you are travelling with your pet(s). <\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">We recommend that you check the website of the shipping company you are travelling with or the British government website directly:<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btn btn--primary\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/bring-pet-to-great-britain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">British Government website <i class=\"fas fa-arrow-up-right-from-square\"><\/i><\/a><\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>Port safety and security<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">For safety and security reasons, a number of items are subject to restrictions or must be declared by the passenger to the shipping company at check-in.
