Since the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union, all travellers, including babies and minors, are required to present a valid passport<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

ETA – Electronic Travel Authorisation<\/h2>\n

\"\"Since April 2025, all travellers \u2013 including minors and infants \u2013 travelling to the United Kingdom for a short stay must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)<\/strong>. The application must be made to the British authorities at least 3 days before your planned date of travel<\/strong>. The British authorities recommend that you apply for your ETA before making your booking.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The cost of an ETA is \u00a316<\/strong>, or approximately \u20ac19.<\/strong> It is valid for two years, <\/strong>or until the expiry date of the passport to which it is linked (whichever comes first). It allows for multiple short stays (maximum duration of six months per visit).<\/p>\n

Nationals of certain countries are exempt from this requirement.<\/p>\n

EES \u2013 Entry & Exit System<\/h3>\n

From October 2025, travellers who are not nationals of European Union Member States<\/strong> will be subject to the EES system. This is an automated system for the digital collection of personal data through biometric data collection upon entry into or exit from the Schengen area.<\/p>\n

It is intended for citizens of non-EU countries who are staying for a short period (maximum 90 days in any 180-day period) in the territory of a Schengen Member State.
\nWhen you pass through the port of Calais, your biometric data (photos and fingerprints) will be taken. This biometric check replaces the manual stamping of passports.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Driving in England<\/h2>\n

If you plan to drive during your trip, you will need to have all the necessary documents with you: driving licence, insurance certificate and the original vehicle registration document. If you borrow or hire a vehicle, or drive a leased or company vehicle, you must have the hire certificate with you.<\/p>\n

Pets<\/h2>\n

If you are travelling with your pet, make sure before departure that it meets all the travel requirements for entering the United Kingdom. This includes, among other things, a microchip, up-to-date vaccinations, a veterinary health certificate and a European pet passport, etc. On the day of travel, when you check in, do not forget to inform the shipping company agent that you are travelling with your pet(s).<\/p>\n
