During your crossing, French customs authorities will assign a customs status to the goods you are transporting.

Services à la marchandise port Boulogne Calais

Before disembarking, check your customs status.

Before disembarking, you must check the customs status of the goods you are transporting. This information is displayed on the screens provided for this purpose in the driver areas on board all vessels. Simply locate your vehicle’s registration number and check the colour assigned to it.

2 cases:

  1. Your status is “GREEN”: you are authorised to leave the port as soon as you disembark and to freely access the territory of the European Union.
  2. Your status is “ORANGE”: you must proceed to the customs or health control area and may not leave the port without express authorisation from customs.

A geo-guidance application takes you from the ship directly to the control area as soon as you disembark.

It will also display all the services available there: professional services (RDE, clerks, etc.), sanitary facilities, catering outlets, etc. Simply scan the QR code displayed in the driver areas on all ships and follow the instructions!

The status of your goods is orange; you must proceed to the control area.

Upon disembarkation, you must proceed to the Customs/SIVEP control area and park there. Once parked, you must register on the e-border application (using your mobile phone or the terminals provided for this purpose).

Your registration will automatically trigger the intervention of the customs representative for the goods or their local representative (clerk), who will take the necessary steps with Customs or SIVEP.

Special case for seafood products

If you are transporting seafood products, your cargo will travel under a T1 customs transit regime. This allows you to leave the port of Calais freely and proceed to the SIVEP health checks in Boulogne-sur-Mer.

Please note that you cannot deliver your goods without first passing through the SIVEP checks!
