The company provides shuttle transport to border controls (French border police and British border guards) and then to boarding.
Please note: French minors who are not accompanied by both parents must have authorisation to leave the country signed by both parents.
Check-in: Passengers must check in at the ferry terminal at least 60 minutes before the ship’s departure time and 90 minutes during busy periods (summer, end-of-year holidays, Easter).
Passenger services
The Port of Calais offers travelers services before and after boarding checks.
- Before check-in and security checks:
The ferry terminal, at the entrance to the port, is recognisable by its ochre cladding, designed as a tribute to the famous Calais lace. It offers a whole range of services for your comfort.

A self-service restaurant called “Le Bistrot du Port” is located in the old terminal, a few minutes from the ferry terminal – open for lunch only.
For hikers, the port of Calais is the first point of entry into France on the famous Via Francigena pilgrimage route linking Canterbury to Rome. The route is signposted from the ferry terminal.
It is also marked on the GR 120 Channel/North Sea coastal walking route, known as the “Sentiers du Littoral” (Coastal Paths), which links the Opal Coast to the Baie de Somme estuary and beyond to Normandy.
- After check-in and border controls:
At the Channel Tunnel terminal, take advantage of the many services available in the Calais building – home to the Duty Free Store and Calais Coffee Shop – as well as at our various service points.

Caution: for your safety, always use the designated pedestrian walkways when travelling.
